Elvon 12" White Turntable Tachometer Strobe Disc +Cartridge Alignment Protractor.

Elvon 12" Strobe Disc. A strobe disc on one side for 33 1/3, 45 and 78rpm, and a Baerwald system alignment protractor on the other side. Two essential items for the turntable toolbox in one. Cut from a rigid and durable 3mm thick white acrylic polymer.


Designed to help you easily detect the rotational speed of your record player, and to help you correctly adjust the position of your cartridge and stylus. You can enjoy the best possible sound quality from your turntable relaxed in the knowledge that your machine is set up just right. Not only that, it will extend the life of your stylus and protects your records from damage that can be caused by an incorrectly set up cartridge.


Tachometer Instructions:
  1. Place the strobe disc on your record player.
  2. Use an incandescant/neon/filiment light shined at the bars on the disc for the speed you've selected.
  3. Then, when the platter spins at the correct speed, the bars should appear to stand still. When the speed is incorrect, the bars will appear to move forwards or backwards around the disc
  4. Adjust the speed of your turntable manually until correct


Protractor Instructions:
  1. Place the adjustment ruler on the turntable shaft of the record player
  2. Move the gauge and the arm to drop the stylus at point A. Adjust the angle of the head so that the leading edge and the horizontal line on the scale are kept horizontal, which is more conducive to the mirror reflection
  3. Move the gauge and the arm to drop the stylus at point B. Check that the leading edge of the cartridge is square with the grid lines on the scale
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until a square is formed at two points. Simply loosen the screw to move the cartridge, and after tightening, tighten the cartridge fixing screw
