THIS STUDDED MINI NUT KIT, IS A MUST HAVE ITEM!! THEY HAVE SUPERIOR CLAMPING OVER CONVENTIONAL BOLTS. THEY LOOK GREAT AND THEY ALLOW EASY INSTALLATION OF THE GASKETS, AND VALVE COVERS, AS THE STUD ALLOWS A GUIDE TO KEEP THINGS IN PLACE. THOSE ADDING WIRE LOOMS WILL REALLY APPRECIATE THESE, AS THEY ARE PRICELESS WHEN ATTACHING THEM TO THE STUD. NOTICE THERE IS A PHILLIPS SLOT IN THE STUD. NOW WHY GM DIDN'T THINK OF THIS!!! THE CHROME PLATED MINI NUT IS MADE OF STEEL, NOT PLASTIC. THEY REALLY DO LOOK GOOD ON THE ENGINE. WING NUTS ARE OUT OF STYLE AND THIS IS THE NEW LOOK
THE NUTS ARE ONE FULL INCH, AND ALLOW EASY REMOVAL. FOR THE GREAT PRICE ON THEM, WE CAN'T IMAGINE DOING WITHOUT THEM. THINK HOW EASY IT IS TO LINE UP THE GASKETS AND VALVE COVERS ONTO THE STUD, NOT TO MENTION HOW QUICKLY THIS CAN BE DONE.
THEY ARE SIMPLY A MUST HAVE ITEM!! CHECK THIS OUT AND YOU WILL SEE. IT IS A TERRIBLE INJUSTICE TO A SET OF NICE VALVE COVERS TO USE A PLAIN BOLT, NOT TO MENTION IF YOU ARE RUNNING ALUMINUM VALVE COVERS THEY HAVE A BUILT IN SPREADER BAR. COUNTING THE GASKET THICKNESS, YOU HAVE USED UP NEARLY 3/8's" OF THE TYPICAL BOLTS THREADED LENGTH BEFORE IT EVEN STARTS SCREWING INTO THE HEAD, AND THIS IS WHY THEY COME LOOSE AND BEGIN TO LEAK OIL. THESE STUDS ALLOW FOR A HUGE AMOUNT OF THREAD TO CLAMP WITH. THEY WONT COME LOOSE, AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO OVER TIGHTEN THEM TO KEEP THEM TIGHT!!
NOTE: If you are running thin cork gaskets, and oem style sheet metal valve covers, you may have too much thread left on the stud, and the mini nut could bottom out before clamping. You should be using spreader bars on such valve covers to distribute the clamping area. If you don't have them, use washers to take up the slack on the stud. Spreader bars are your best choice, as they work very well on oem sheet metal, (steel) valve covers.

AS YOU ALL KNOW ANY STUDDED TYPE SETUP ALLOWS FOR BETTER CLAMPING AND RESISTANCE AGAINST LOOSENING. IF YOU HAVE ALUMINUM HEADS, THEY ARE A MUST, AS STRIPPING THE THREADS IS VERY EASY TO DO WITH CONVENTIONAL BOLTS.
IF YOU HAVE A SET OF HEADS THAT HAVE A RECESS AREA WHERE THE VALVE/ROCKER COVER BOLT GOES IN, SUCH AS IN THE PICTURE, THEN YOU MUST HAVE THESE MINI NUTS!!
