Description

Richard Burton, CBE (1925-84) Signed Photo, "Richard Burton", blue ink, 7.5 x 10, great acting photo as Leon Trotsky, as he screams in agony after the attack by the assassin in The Assassination of Trotsky, this photo was being prepared for use in a publication and has cropping lines noted in red on the left and top margins and a large printing notation "85%" on a piece of tape at the bottom, please note that the dramatic image can easily be matted to display the central image and signature. Burton was a Welsh actor, noted for his mellifluous baritone voice, who established himself as a formidable Shakespearean actor in the 1950s, and he gave a memorable performance of Hamlet in 1964. Burton was nominated for an Academy Award seven times, but never won an Oscar. He was a recipient of BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and Tony Awards for Best Actor. Burton remained closely associated in the public consciousness with his second wife, actress Elizabeth Taylor. The couple's turbulent relationship was rarely out of the news.

In The Assassination of Trotsky (1972) staring Richard Burton, the mystery surrounding the 1940 killing of Leon Trotsky, who along with Lenin led the Russian Revolution, is explored in this riveting drama directed by Joseph Losey. Was Moscow behind the assassination? A dramatic signed photo in fine condition, with the above mentioned printers notations.   #11893
