Historical Cufflinks

Heritage luxury cufflinks, military, remembrance, Army of India medal, Victorian

1803 - 1826 Commemorative Cufflinks

These are a lovely pair of cufflinks made with British Queen Victoria Army of India Medal miniatures, over 200 years ago.  The pair of cufflinks are made from two silver plated miniature medals showing both the obverse (Queen’s head) and reverse (‘Victory’ holding a laurel branch and wreath with the Words ‘To the Army of India’.  The Army of India medal was unusual in being issued by Queen Victoria in 1851 to retrospectively recognise service in the wars in India between 1803 – 1826 under the reigns of George III and George IV.   The cufflinks are made with a swivel back with an attractive diamond pattern on the swivel and are 18 mm in diameter.

They represent a unique part of history and the beautiful miniature medals and ribbons have been carefully cleaned and mounted to retain some of the original character of the medals, whilst highlighting the beautiful details and date of these medals.

This is a truly unique gift and a chance to own a small piece of history lovingly restored and made into a beautiful pair of cufflinks.  They are presented in a luxury wooden cufflink box and cardboard cover to make them the perfect present.
