Behentrimonium Methosulfate(and) Cetearyl Alcohol-Conditioning emulsifier is perfect for both hair and skin applications. It is superb in hair-care products where detangling and conditioning properties are desired.
Leaving skin with a lovely, silky and powdery feel, BTMS is a must-have for luxury cosmetic formulations. This primary emulsifier doubles as an effective and lasting conditioner, and an excellent cosmetic ingredient for skin care as well as hair care imparting softness, smoothness and lasting hydration. Working incredibly well in hair care formulations, BTMS leaves the hair with excellent spring and body, making it easier to comb through as a detangler. As this emulsifier is incredibly mild, as it is known for, it is suitable to use in cosmetic formulations that are both rinse-off and leave-on such as leave-in conditioners for hair.
Cetyl Alcohol-Works as an emollient, emulsifier, thickener and carrying agent for other ingredients contained in a cosmetic solution. It keeps the oil and water parts of an emulsion from separating and gives products good spreadability.
Platonia insignis (Virgin Bacuri) Seed Butter- excellent to soften the hair and the skin, but not only: it’s also excellent for mixed and oily skin since it keeps under control the production of sebum. The Bacuri butter is very rich in the vitamins A,B, C and in antioxidants as well as phosphor, iron, lysine and vitamin C and methionine, an essential amino acid, the body’s primary source of sulphur. The body uses sulphur to promote healthy hair, skin and nail growth.
Camellia sinensis Cera (Green Tea Wax)-one of the most powerful antioxidants and therefore is considered to be another powerful growth-encouraging and protective ingredient.
Serenoa serrulata (Saw Palmetto)-Saw palmetto extracts and supplements work as hair loss treatments because they keep testosterone levels balanced. As men age, the testosterone hormone is diminished and the hormone called 5α-Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) increases. The cause of hair loss is due to the hair follicles’ sensitivity to DHT, which is a male androgen hormone that causes follicles to shrink, resulting in a shorter lifespan and decrease of hair production.
Normally after hairs fall out, another hair starts to grow from this same follicle — but if DHT is high, hair growth decreases. Saw palmetto has the power to stop the conversion of testosterone into DHT, making it beneficial for hair growth.
Although the options about saw palmetto as an effective hair growth agent are mixed, there are studies that indicate its use as beneficial. One study conducted at the Clinical Research and Development Network in Colorado tested 34 men and 28 women, aged 18-48 years, who topically applied saw palmetto extract in a conditioner and lotion base for three months; the results found that 35 per cent of the participants had an increase in hair density.
Cucurbita maxima (Pumpkin Seed) oil-Research has found PSO can inhibit the enzyme known as 5-alpha-reductase enzyme, which has been shown to slow and stop hair growth by producing DHT from testosterone. It has also been shown to protect hair follicles and increase shine. Adding a nutritional supplement to your beauty routine that contains PSO, which is also high in complex B vitamins and folic acid.
