Each power filter has a low setting and a high flow setting to coordinate with the size tank they are listed for. See info below sizing
20/mini is for a 5 to 20 gallon tank.
30/150 is for a 10 to 30 gallon tank and produces 150 gph (A632) WILL ALSO work with C2 Filter (14001) A20297
50/200 is for a 20 to 50 gallon tank and produces 200 gph (
A634) WILL ALSO work with C3 Filter (14002) A20298
70/300 is for a 40 to 70 gallon tank and produces 300 gph (A636) WILL ALSO work with C4 Filter (14003) A20299. Purchasing BOTH items, I compared them and confirmed with Fluval that they are interchangeable between the C4 and 70/300. You may receive on that says Fluval but it is the same.
110/500 is for a 60 to 110 gallon tank and produces 500 gph (A638)
NOTE: I have 110/500 in another listing. They are NEW, just no packaging and right from a new filter!
INTERESTING FACTS:
**While the 30, 50 and 70 use the same size motor, the 110/500 needs the larger motor. The difference between the 30, 50 and 70 impellers is the impeller "fin" sizes and that changes the flow of the water. These 3 also use the same motor and impellers as the C2, C3 and C4.
YOU CAN CHOOSE to put one of these impellers in a smaller filter box for MORE water flow AND SAVE MONEY NOT HAVING TO BUY A BIGGER FILTER.
Or if your flow is too high, you may put a smaller impeller in a larger filter instead of buying a smaller one!
If you have a refugium or made a refugium out of a 70/300 but want slower flow, put in a smaller impeller! This is also good for delicate animals that need lower flow.
For example, if you have the 200 Filter, you can use the 300 impeller to speed up the flow instead of buying a new filter! I would NOT go up 2 levels though. You can always size down 2.
