You've also got two (2) terrific channels that you can switch with a toggle on your top panel as well as with a footswitch ! (INCLUDED with this listing!)
Man, and that's not all, not even close to it. The features on this girl are just robust. But all of them practical, not a wasted control or jack !
On the top panel, in addition to the toggle control already mentioned, you've also got a useful standby switch for when you first power on the amp …. get them tubes a ' cookin' ! You've also got a switch that allows you to turn the built in boost and off, as well as indicator lights that tell you whether the effects loop and/or the reverb are engaged ! Speaking of which, the built in tube driven true spring reverb also has a very wide range. It sure can get super wet, but also stay subtle if you need it too !
Channel 1 has a straight ahead volume and a very wide ranging tone knob. The sound is derived from Supro's collaboration with master pedal builder Robert Keeley, the 1970RK combo amplifier. It's optimized for clean tone and maximum headroom, the perfect solution when you want to craft your guitar tone using pedals. You can generate big volume without preamp distortion, which means your sound stays tight and punchy! And just like a great tube amp, the louder you turn it up, the sweeter it sounds.....complete with that Supro grind when you push the power tubes at higher volume levels! It's also got a control for reverb that you can set for the clean 1st channel and adjust for the dirty 2nd channel. (More on that later!)
Channel 2 is even more flexible tonally.... with separate treble, mid and bass controls as well as separate gain and volume (called "Master") knobs! This overdrive channel on the Galaxy combo is the result of a decade of collaboration between Supro and amp guru Bruce Zinky. And the sound of Galaxy's second channel says it was worth the wait. Utilizing multiple cascaded gain stages, this channel offers more gain than any other Supro amplifier, according to the manufacturer. It's a wide-open sound that you can shape to your tastes, thanks to the aforementioned three-band EQ, and the addition of a master volume control makes it easy to balance the volume with that of channel one. With Bruce's help, Supro really gives you that "True Grit" (some people will see what I did there!) and nice, but greasy Fender Tweed dirt that we hordes of musicians and countless stars like Keith Richards and Jimmy Page have come to adore over the countless decades !
Then, we have the back panel. It not only has a jack for the included amp channel footswitch. But it also has jacks for the reverb,boost and effects loop if you want to be able to turn them on with a footswitch. (NOT included with this listing.) It's also got an effects loop engage switch along with corresponding effects send and effects return jacks for the tube driven effects loop ! There is also a switch so you can assign reverb to either channel or BOTH ! What's really cool on the back panel is a dwell control on the overdrive channel. With it, you can set that channel's reverb level independently from the clean channel. That means you can bathe your cleans in vibrant reverb, and when you switch to the overdrive channel for a solo, the reverb send amount will decrease or increase based on where you've set the dwell control ! Round it out with speaker outputs for THREE different ohm ages …. 4, 8 and 16 ohms … take your pick !
