Gachapons/Gashapons Tomy Miniature Zoids & MMPR Mastodon Dinozord Figure
Zoids is a science fiction media franchise created by Tomy that feature giant robots called "Zoids". A Zoid is essentially a large mechanical animal, with designs being based on animals; including dinosaurs, insects, arachnids and mythological creatures.
TOMY released 11 waves of one-piece miniature Zoids, called Gachapons (or Gashapons), that were sold in vending machines across Japan. Each Zoid was only about one inch tall and came in a capsule to protect it in the vending process. The Trinity Liger, Geno Hydra, and Quad Liger were also featured in different waves, although none of them actually saw a full model release in any line.

Zack Taylor, the Black Ranger, piloted the Mastodon Dinozord. Its body formed the back and arms of the Megazord and Dragonzord Battle Mode. The head could be utilized as a shield. Alone it could fire frigid blasts of cold air & mist at enemies, temporarily freezing them. Its hiding place was in the deep Arctic.
When it was destroyed, what remains of it were made into the Mastodon Lion Thunderzord, and so it aided the Black Ranger in battle in a new form.
