You never know what you may find! Here we have a great poster of The Machinson Sisters from a print published in 1901 by artist Henry Gabriel Ibels, along with the chorus text and "Censor" stamp which was the intent of the artist. This version has the original French chorus text. The Machinsons were an English Music Hall act comprised of "supposed" sisters who patterned their act after the notorious Barrison Sisters. In their most famous act, the sisters would dance around the stage while pulling up their skirts slightly above their knees and flirting with the audience while singing a chorus along the lines of:
Do you want to give me a tip, tip, tip
Do you want to give me a tip, tip, tip
Because I have a little pussy
Because I have a little pussy
Who has not eaten that, that, that!
After sufficiently coaxing the audience into an affirmative roar, they would raise up their skirts, revealing that each sister was wearing underwear that had a live kitten secured over the crotch. Our posters are shipped in sturdy mailing tubes, fully insured!
We carry a second version which has been translated into English which you can find by clicking here.
