This Conestoga wagon, also known as a Covered Wagon, was a souvenir of Washington, D.C. They were sold at numerous gift shops in that city and others: this same design can be found with Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, Arlington, and many other locales emblazoned on its side. Those wagons got around!

It was probably made in the 1950s 0r 60s, because it's an ASHTRAY! (Back in the day, no one knew that smoking cigarettes probably wasn't the best thing to encourage tourists to do.) Look carefully at the top of the wagon, near the back, and you'll see a little curved piece designed to hold the cigarette. The ashes were supposed to drop off of the end and fall into the wagon.

This vintage ashtray is made of pot metal with a copper finish. It is only about 2 ½ inches long and 1 ½ inches high. It is in extremely good condition and would make a nice addition to your collection of miniatures.

Please look at the photos carefully, as they indicate the condition of the item. I always give accurate descriptions of any flaws that I notice. If you have questions before purchasing, I am happy to answer them.
