From the chapter on Clutches and Gears the book mentions the use of asbestos base composition for dry type clutches. A clutch or clutch couplings are used on direct drive propulsion Navy diesel engines for the purpose of disconnecting the engine from the propeller shaft when needed.

The book is in GOOD condition!! The book has normal wear from use. There are no locations of writing or highlighting of the text that I could find from a cursory review. It's a used book with plenty of life left in it!!
