Chilli Gypsy Sweet Hybrid Pepper Sustainably Grown in Australia 10 Seeds

Gypsy pepper is a hybrid pepper and developed from a cross between a sweet Italian bull horn and a bell pepper. When the pods are young and green, Gypsy peppers are crunchy and have a slightly acidic flavor but at the age of maturity they develop a complex, sugary sweet taste with subtle floral notes. The peppers grow approximately 10cm long and 5cm diametre. This sweet pepper has no heat at all but has great chilli flavour. The pods start off green then turn to bright red when matute. A great chilli variety to try out. Genus: Capsicum Annuum.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:

Multi-Celled seeds starter tray

Fill the cell with seed raising mix from your local nursery. Make a small hole in the middle of every cell and sow the seeds between 8 to 10mm deep. Cover the hole and spray some water gently. Please make sure to keep it moist, not wet. Also, provide them between 26 to 30 degrees of constant heat as it is the main key to achieve a great germination rate. A heat mat under the try really works well and they are not really expensive and you can easily find them on eBay. Chilli seeds germinate usually between 2 to 5 weeks depending on the variety you are growing.

Wet Paper towel

My favourite one as it is quite easy and takes less time but not very effective if you want to grow hundreds of plants. A great and easy way for the backyard gardeners. For this, you only need a paper towel and a plain (you can use a sandwich bag instead of a tray as well). Put the paper towel on the tray and add some water to make sure it's completely wet. Remove the excess water from the tray as we do not want a floating paper towel on the tray! Place the seeds on the wet paper towel and make sure you give each seed about a half-inch of space. This will help the seed to expand its roots and easy to remove them from you when they pop up. Warp the top of the tray with clear plastic or cling wrap. It will hold the moist inside the tray and prevent the paper towel to dry out quickly. Please keep the paper towel nice and moist. Leave the tray on the top of the fridge as this nice and warm place will make the germination quicker (you can use a heat mat if you like). When you find the seeds are popping up and growing roots then sow them in a multi-Celled seeds starter tray, in a small pot. Keep the soil moist not wet and they will start growing. Transfer to a bigger pot or garden bed when mature enough to survive.

Jiffy Pallets

Another great way to germinate your chilli seeds. Put the pallets on a tray and pour some hot water (it will disinfect the pallets). The size of the pallets will start increasing but do not sow the seeds yet. Wait for them to cool down otherwise they may burn the seeds. Sow the seeds between 8 to 10mm deep. Cover the hole. Please make sure to keep it moist not wet (as they dry up and wet quite easily). Also, provide them between 26 to 30 degrees of constant temperature as proper heat is the main key to achieve a great germination rate. A heat mat under the try really works well and they are not really expensive and you can easily find them on eBay. Chilli seeds germinate usually between 2 to 5 weeks depending on the variety you are growing.
