Elkington Silver Wine Coasters

Stunning pair of matching antique mid-nineteenth century, highly sought after, large basket-style silver wine bottle coasters. 

They bear the makers mark of the renowned silversmiths Elkington and date from circa 1850.

They feature an attractive cast grape vine design with crisscross fretwork. 

These are top quality the metal is worked, the vine leaves have been chiselled and textured after casting.

The coasters have turned wooden mahogany bases, with a central silverplate boss, not engraved or personalized. 

Very little wear to silver, scratches or dents. Bases are covered in original green felt verso in great condition.

Dimensions: 20 cm in diameter and 5 cm tall. Both numbered: 3785 W.

(large enough base to also hold magnum size, mineral water, or spirit bottles)
