Dry and cracked heels can be unsightly and embarrassing. This is most commonly caused by a loss of ‘elasticity’
when dryness sets in, or when the skin thickens and cracks or breaks under pressure. Pressure can occur
through everyday activities such as walking and exercising. Other factors known to lead to dry and cracked
heels are walking barefoot or in open-back shoes, increase in weight, circulation problems, and other medical
conditions. Fortunately, dry and cracked heels can be relatively simple to overcome if treated properly. Promotes
visibly healthier skin in just three days of application.

Some of the carefully selected natural ingredients include:

  • Lanolin: Helps to restore and maintain moisture balance
  • Shea Butter: Moisturises and promotes softer, smoother skin
  • Aloe Vera: Is a natural soothing agent
  • Urea: Helps to increase the amount of water that the skin holds, whilst decreasing the
amount of water lost from skin's surface. It also helps to gently exfoliate rough and dry
    surface skin
  • Centipeda Cunninghamii: A unique Australian herb clinically proven to have skin nourishing
properties that aids in the softening of hard thickened skin

More about Flexitol Heel Balm

Flexitol Heel Balm is the perfect product for dry and cracked heels as part of a general foot care routine.
It is also suitable for use in diabetic foot care regimes, and is regularly prescribed and recommended by
healthcare professionals (including GPs, Nurses, Pharmacists and Podiatrists). For diabetic patients, the risk
of developing problems is high. Foot ulcers, one of the most common manifestations associated with this
condition, represent a potential danger to diabetic patients as they frequently become infected and are extremely
difficult to heal due to poor circulation.

Anhydrotic (red, cracked or itchy) skin, also commonly associated with diabetics, can provide a portal of entry
for particles and micro-organisms which can lead to fungal and bacterial infections that if not treated in time,
can develop into ulcers.

As a preventative strategy, the use of Flexitol Heel Balm can reduce the risk of infections and ulcerations by keeping
the skin optimally hydrated. The daily application of Flexitol Heel Balm can also monitor the development of
injuries, blisters or scrapes.

Use once to twice daily:

Once healthy, well moisturised skin on the heels has been restored, consider using Flexitol Moisturising Foot
 Cream
or Flexitol Heel Magic as part of an ongoing footcare well-being and maintenance routine.

Clinical Test 1 Methodology:

Over 6 weeks, 30 people applied a 25% Urea cream to their right foot, and to their left, they applied a 10%
Urea cream. The changes in moisture levels were measured.

Results:
When measured, the levels of skin hydration achieved on the
feet on which 10% urea cream was applied, was lower than
that of the 25% urea cream.  Use of the 25% urea cream
(Flexitol Heel Balm) resulted in a greater level of skin moisturisation.

Note: This study was conducted on patients attending the
Diabetes Centre and Department of Podiatry, Southern
General Hospital Glasgow, Scotland.

Clinical Test 2 Methodology:

In a 14-day product trial, 27 people suffering from dry, cracked heels and feet used Flexitol Heel
Balm twice daily.

 Results:

The levels of change between the start and the end of the trial
showed that Flexitol Heel Balm had a significant effect on the
increase in the moisturisation values.
