Lise and Louis lead a simple but happy life with their son Joachim in a secluded place surrounded by hills and forests. When Joachim cannot fall asleep one evening, he discovers three shadows in the distance watching the house. These shadows turn out to be three mysterious horsemen who soon come menacingly close to the house. Louis tries to banish the mysterious shadows, but they seem to vanish as soon as he approaches them. Gradually, the parents realize that the horsemen have come to get their son. With a heavy heart, the father decides to flee with him - but is it possible to escape his fate?

Cyril Pedrosa, born in 1972, was enthusiastic about Asterix and Mickey Mouse at an early age and decided to become a comic artist. As an animator for Disney, he worked on The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hercules. "Drei Schatten” was awarded “Best Album” at the Angoulême Comic Festival 2008.
