Kentile FASHION IN Floors catalog (1975)
for Commercial Installations

Out-of-print, hard-to-find 8 1/2" x 11" paper catalog, 8 pages from the Kentile Floors Inc., New York, NY.   Catalog is undated but was taken from a compilation issued in 1975.  References are made to Federal Specifications dated 1972.

Asbestos ReferenceS:

Catalog has 2 pages showing the color, style and design pattern choices for their Vinyl Asbestos Tile and 1 page showing their Asphalt tiles.

Description of Kentile Vinyl Asbestos Tile - "Composed of vinyl resins, asbestos fibers and fillers, this is the most extensively used of all floor tiles.  Economical, durable, greaseproof, and with low maintenance cost, it may installed on, above, or below grade with inexpensive adhesives.  Excellent for institutional, commercial, and residential floors."

Description of Kentile Asphalt Tile - "A low-cost, durable floor covering, chiefly composed of coumarone-indene resins." Meets Federal Specification SS-T-312A May 30, 1972. From section 3.1.1 of this referenced federal specification, "The tile shall be composed of a thermoplastic binder, asbestos fibers, mineral fillers, and pigments.  The binder shall consist of asphaltic or resinous type materials."

The catalog is in VERY GOOD condition!!  It's still a very good booklet with plenty of life left in it!!
