Large antique silver-plated presentation tray, with engraved family heraldic crest to the centre.  The tray measures approx. 13.5 inches across, and stands on four claw feet.  The back is maker marked for Harrison Brothers and Howson.  The crest bears the motto “in deo cresido”, or in God I trust.  I haven’t identified it, but it was acquired as part of the estate of Major Hugh G Greatwood (424341) of the Parachute Regiment, so possibly linked to his family.  It weighs approx. 1.1kg, so is a quality gauge metal, and has genuine age to it.  In good condition, free from dents.  There is some light surface scratching, natural toning to the plate, and some rubbing through to base metal around the engraved crest.
