  • Clear high metal sound;

  • Healing sound therapy tool;

  • Well tuned and any combinations of notes sounds well together;

  • Sustainable sound up to 40 seconds long;

  • High vibration music;

  • Handmade non-mass market instrument.

The Rawa is a new variation of instrument from the family of metallophones or more exactly of tubular chimes musical instruments. The main difference is the way of fixing the tubes together – with the Rawa, you can hold the instrument in your hand, move and walk with it. Therefore, it is very practical to use in sound healing sessions as you approach very close to the person with the instrument so that the high frequency vibrations are really felt.

In addition, it is just nice to have it in every family, for kids, for friends. You don't have to be a musician at all, everybody is able to get nice sounds and beautiful melodies very easily.

HEALING SOUND:

In almost all religions and traditions, sounds made from different metals (e.g. Tibetan bowls, church bells, gongs, etc.) have been used to purify the congregational space and produce a meditative ambiance for the harmonization and healing of the people. The high frequency vibrations of the sustained metal sound is like a sound from the sky, the sound from God.

Nowadays, modern metal sound instruments, including my ”Fiery Mercury” Rawa, are perfect for personal or group meditations, healing sessions and sound therapy practices. The high and clean sound of metal has a positive effect on the human body and mind.

HOW IT IS MADE:

The Rawa tubular chimes are made from 9 differing lengths of aluminum tubing attached horizontally so that you can hold them in one hand. The tubes are fixed with a strong rope, and attached at the top and bottom to two pieces of wood used for holding the instrument. The wooden stick with artificial leather is included in the set (it is similar to a tibetian singing bowl stick).

The most important thing in building the Rawa is to tune the notes correctly and to be very precise about it. In the end, it gives harmonious and amazing combinations of sound, very pleasant for the human ear. I pay the most attention to the tuning so that in the end, the sound of my Rawa is clean and amazing.

Of course, due to the nature and availability of the raw materials, there will inevitably be small differences from instrument to instrument. However, the resulting sound is a stable characteristic for all instruments I make. All the work is done to a professional level and the materials used are the best quality. For any questions regarding the details, please message me and I can clarify all the small nuances before shipping. I sincerely want that the instrument you get will exceed all your expectations, and you will be over 100% satisfied and get a lot of joy from it.

HISTORY OF THE INSTRUMENT:

I saw this instrument for the first time at our Moldovan alternative music and arts festival “Art-Labyrinth” in 2018. The story I heard was that it was brought from Auroville, India. Furthermore, it was invented there and was called Diatonic. That’s the story I heard, but of course, there could be many such stories.

My vision is that this is a folk instrument and one of many variations of tubular chimes instruments which could have been invented in many different places by many different people. It has become increasingly popular because of the practical way of fixing the tubes which gives advantages for travelling and performing. In Ukraine, it is often called “Daiva”, the name given (and patented) by the person who first started to produce them in that country.

There are many other types of tubular chimes instruments that are fixed in a stable platform horizontally from both sides, or vertically fixed only from one side. And the dimensions of these variations can range from very small to huge.

For my unique variation and instrument, I have given the name “Rawa”.

I can make Rawas of different tonalities on request. I have made two variants of Rawa: the basic variant has 9 notes, and the bigger variant “Fiery Mercury” has 12 notes (I added 3 higher notes).

Be happy!
