Cardiff Dainty Series postcard images circa 1902-1910, ETW Dennis

A well-preserved presentation of the Dainty Series of post cards. The illustrations are of the postcard depictions for Cardiff, the capital of Wales, with the images being of that series but blank on the backside for this pictorial presentation. All are titled/described upon the image, with six bearing the ETWD initials for ETW DENNIS of Scarborough. The printer/publisher first issued post cards in 1894.These cards include views of the Cardiff electric trams, operational in 1902.The Dainty Series of cards were produced from approximately 1902 to 1910.

10 photographic illustrations are loosely attached along the top edge, plus one tightly attached to the cover. The interior views measure approximately 3.8 x 5.7 inches on a 7 x 8.7 inch page. The cover photo measures 2.6 x 5.5 inches, with the cover and back page being of more hard stock, sized overall 7.2 x 8.9 inches. The front/back cover is of one piece, folded, with the booklet pages being a cord-tied binding.

Apart from that on the image, the only text includes “CARDIFF” on the front cover, and on the back ‘THE “DAINTY” SERIES – BRITISH MANUFACTURE THROUGHOUT’. Front/back cover edges are slightly worn and rounded at the corners. The smaller interior pages are more protected and in very good to excellent condition, with the edges and corners unmarked and undamaged.
