John S. D. Eisenhower (1922-2013) was the son of President Dwight D. Eisenhower.  In a lengthy career, he was an army officer, diplomat, and military historian.  Eisenhower graduated from West Point on D-Day and later taught English there for three years.  He spent thirty-five years in the military, nineteen of which were on active duty, retiring in 1974 as a Brigadier General.  During World War II he served in the First Army and spent thirty months in Europe.  He volunteered for active duty during the Korean Conflict, in which he commanded a battalion in the Third Infantry Division. His service was rewarded with a Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Bronze Star.  From 1969 to 1971, Eisenhower served as President Richard Nixon's ambassador to Belgium.  But Eisenhower, however, is best known for his military histories, having written ten well received volumes.  Offered for sale is eight of these.
