New trailer floors will only require a light sweeping out before application.

Used trailer floors require a more thorough cleaning with special attention to oil spots and gasoline spills. For used trailer floors, remove/replace rotted wood and splinters, fill in major cracks/holes with paintable wood putty. Clean floor with waterborne degreaser (i.e. citrus degreaser). Rinse thoroughly with hose/pressure washer and allow for the floor to completely dry. Repeated cleaning of oily spots might be necessary to ensure proper adhesion. A fan will increase air flow and reduce drying time.
