In the U.S., our furnaces are for Commercial applications only.
Our traditional outdoor furnaces generate economical, natural and safe heat.
They are compatible with most existing and new forced-air heating systems.
They are built to heat buildings, garages, workshops, commercial and other spaces.
FYI: You don't have bury Pex Pipe because there is NO Pex pipe; just simple water-tight ductwork!
OR just use simple and inexpensive galvanized ductwork above ground.
FEDERAL EPA LAWS are in effect now!
but you can still
purchase these Water-less (Forced-air) furnaces, in MOST STATES. (Not WA)
Outdoor wood BOILERS are now OUTLAWED in ALL 50 STATES!
(A new FEDERAL EPA LAW kicked-in nation-wide on Jan 1, 2016)
You can only purchase an outdoor wood BOILER
for non-residential purposes, in the U.S. BUT this is NOT a BOILER!!
. That means that folks who have a RESIDENCE to HEAT
can still buy one of these SIMPLE and less expensive furnaces.
You can still purchase these
Water-less furnaces
because the law only prohibits wood "BOILERS" in most states!
(NOT allowed in WA and where STATE laws otherwise prohibit them)
FYI, the minimum cost is currently $11,000 to $18,000 and more,
for a new EPA, smallish, typical front-loader.
FYI, People simply hate how hard the EPA models are to start
and that it's a full-time job to keep them running
because with them, the wood has to be dried, under cover, for a minimum of two years! NOT THE CASE WITH THESE WATER-LESS FURNACES!
These new EPA models have a refractory (much like a jet engine)
that
must use special fuel (remember
unleaded gas?)
Wood MUST have LESS than 20% moisture content;
must be dried under cover for a minimum of TWO YEARS (Who does that?)
Just like the cars of the 60s that had lots of power and got
great gas mileage, used regular, less expensive gas, had gobs of power and could smoke the
tires;
then the EPA got involved and cars suddenly had 1/2 the horsepower
and only got about about half the gas mileage
and became dogs with catalytic converters!

The LEAST EXPENSIVE BOILER ALTERNATIVE!
Now available with a 1 inch thick solid steel grate
Write to me and I will list one with cast iron coal grates OR 1 inch thick solid steel grates for you.
HyProTherm has done it again! Backed by our 49 years of experience,
we have developed a FORCED-AIR Furnace that doesn't need water!
There is an air jacket instead of a water jacket and a big 2000+ CFM blower instead of a pump.
This furnace can go outside and does not
have to be bolted or be so very near to the house or go in the basement like every other model out
there!
Heat is carried to your home through insulated 12" ducts.
No more worries about frozen water.
NO CHEMICALS or annual water tests !
Perfect for folks who have power failures often or those people with cabins or homes that are left unattended.
NOW there is no need to put the furnace right next to the house or in the basement!!
Eliminate the threat of fire by having the furnace away from the house just like with our outdoor wood fired WATER furnace.
No carrying wood into the house, along with the bugs, bark and trash.
No smoke indoors either! |
We have been building furnaces in the same factory for 49 years; since 1972!
Our furnaces have stood the test of time and these WILL last even longer with NO RUST to deal with!
HyProTherm Forced-Air Outdoor Wood Furnaces are WELL BUILT to
save you money
by producing heat efficiently with a minimum of waste, expense, or unnecessary
effort.
Although our forced air furnaces are a newer line, they are built using the same
materials,
familiar design
and proven techniques that we have been using for 49 years.
Perfect for folks who have power failures often
or
those people with cabins or homes that are unattended.
No worries about water
freezing ever again!
2009 version with smaller door (FLFA-2000)
Two OPTIONAL buried 12" pipes carry the heat to the house
and the cooler return air comes back.
OR you can use less expensive insulated galvanized pipe - above
ground!
The Army Corp of Engineers simply built a chase
around the duct work
using the same material as their building and insulated it. You can do the
same!
The FIRST and SIMPLEST in the industry!
We custom build every furnace for
you,
so when you order, you can
specify YOUR choice of
17 great colors:
NO
EXTRA Charge
and over 8000 Color combinations!
Our furnace is SO strong, we can suspend
it from the chimney alone!
This is how we move and load every one of them!!
Had a little fun with Photoshop here but
this is really being
lifted and moved by the chimney, made of 1/4" thick steel;
that's as thick as or thicker than most fireboxes!
That's the way we always move and unload them
when we deliver them, every day :o)

Now with even MORE and BETTER INSULATION!
A combination of ceramic Superwool
and insulation from Knauf; more R value than in a house!!
BOTH are a state-of-the-art K-Factor insulation that
fights heat loss three ways;
radiation, conduction and convection heat losses.
R-Factor insulation (i.e. fiberglass bats) will
handle keeping 75F in a home
but NOT 180F in a water jacket or 1200+ F in a firebox.

BURN TIMES
As a test of burn
times, the owner of HyProTherm Furnace took the thermostat off his
25 year-old water furnace, so that the fire would rage at maximum burn
24 hours a day.
Yet he still only has to load it every 12
hours, at maximum burn - never shutting off!
Normally, he goes as long as 24 hours without
reloading it.
I get a whole
day with mine!
Another customer called and told me he goes 18 hours between loads (1/17/08)
I, personally, get 24 hour burn times; loading it just ONCE A DAY!
Don't believe the hype and
misinformation about 43-98 hour burn times. This is only true in
the summer. Forced-Air furnaces tend to get even longer burn times. See my eBay

OPTIONAL insulated underground ducts
Perfect for folks who have power failures often
or those people with cabins or homes that are unattended.
NO risk of water freezing! NO Rust! NO Chemicals Needed! No
chimney fire risk either!
Why buy an outdoor wood furnace?
- No logs to
carry in means no messy ashes and bugs in the house!
- One of the selling points of
an outdoor furnace is the convenience of locating it near
the
wood fuel source so you don't have to cart wood all around.
- Safety
- The chance of carbon monoxide
build-up in your home is eliminated.
- Eliminate
allergies by getting the smoke outside!
- The chance of a gas explosion
from your furnace in your home is eliminated.
- Indoor pollutants of harmful
gases and fumes are eliminated too.
- Eliminates the chance of
chimney and flu fires from your furnace.
- If you live in
a suburban or rural area near a source of cheap wood, you
could heat your
home for the entire season for the cost of one month's
electric heat bill.
- An outdoor furnace requires
less tending.
- No inside
oxygen is used to fuel the heat like other wood or gas
burning units.
- Does not cause respiratory problems like burning wood indoors.
- Wood is cheaper than buying it for a fireplace. Instead of
12-18' wood split,
you can put 30" pieces in this one and full rounds.
That makes buying wood even cheaper.
- Burning
wood, a total renewable resource, is less expensive than
other fuels.
- The cost of
electric, gas, oil, or propane can be very erratic. The low
cost of wood remains constant - or FREE!.
- The furnace hooks up to any existing gas pack, heat pump or forced air system;
even buildings with no ductwork or existing heating system ca use it. Ask me how....
Most people pay for their furnace in 2 years or less!
Imagine getting a 50% return on your money
every year!
Where else can you get that?
An outdoor wood burning furnace is the BEST
INVESTMENT!

New, nicer looking furnace - NO
SILICONE
Now with nice neat looking butyl tape and grommets
The
door IS HUGE! Remember, a
smaller 15" round log, 30" long, will weigh
112 lb - more than
most people can
ever lift!
Trust me, the door
is more
than big enough for anything
you can lift into the
furnace AND the
thick door frame
will
take a pounding as you throw them in! |
24" x 24" - The TOUGHEST
door you'll ever find with TWO 1/4" solid steel plates separated
by a 3" air shield; filled with the BEST EVER
Ceramic Wool Insulation insulation.
This inner plate keeps the hot air in and
deflects it off the door. With very little metal to transfer
heat to the door it does an excellent job of insulating the
door.
There is also fiberglass insulation BETWEEN the plates now!
Very heavy duty motor mount type hinges! OURS won't fall
off!

1/4" thick flue; will not get damaged by throwing
wood in
The
chimney is low on the firebox and exits about 1 foot from the
bottom, so that the smoke - or more importantly, the gas and heat - is
trapped so that it doesn't quickly escape out the flue. That
would be a big loss of efficiency.
This way the air has to cool off to find its way down and out the chimney. This is also a better idea since you don't have hard-to-clean baffles getting a
creosote buildup on them.
Having
the chimney come down low
and stops
the heat, gases and smoke from rushing right out the
chimney
AND creates a HUGE Secondary burn chamber
to
burn off all the gases from the wood - a HUGE source of energy!
When wood starts to burn it's the gas that burns first!
Another
advantage is that the chimney exits through the air chamber, further
heating it up - for free!
Nothing does better!
These
are some of the reasons that our water furnace is one of the most
efficient on the market. This
also means that you will burn less wood than with others and therefore you will use more wood with the other - being less than
75% efficient. That's proof, not just rhetoric.
|
Compare Firebox thickness
to another popular furnace (eBay won't allow us to say their
name) at only .125" and another at .1875" thick. Our standard FLFA or THERMOWIND firebox
is 1/4" to produce heat for you FASTER
We have never had a
firebox failure, crack, split, rust-through or leak in 49 years of building
furnaces.
We have a pull-out ash
pan! Some other makes
don't even have an ash pan!!
That makes it HARD to clean out! You
have to let the fire die down or move the burning wood aside
to scoop out hot ashes. OUCH!
It WILL NEVER RUST through in a lifetime! Will not
get stress cracks
like
Stainless Steel!
We have furnaces OVER 30 years old and
more, still in use today!
The
removable, replaceable grate is made out of
THICK
3/4" inch
bar stock.
Now THAT
IS VERY thick!
We have NEVER had
one
burn through!

others are a thin 3/8 - 1/2")

Ash pan
and door
and you can see the air inducer
blower inlet tube
(seen in back of this picture). Click on Picture
for a larger image
The blower in the back is a great aid
in getting
a fire started.
It also recovers
the air temperature much quicker,
and
burns the wood up more completely
because oxygen is being fed to
the
bottom of the flame -
like blacksmith
feeds his fire!
A clean-burning fire is
more efficient than a smoky air-restricted fire. The forced
draft will burn hotter and therefore cleaner. Secondary
gases burn at 1200 degrees and with our furnace, they are trapped in the firebox so
that they are available to be burnt off without escaping out
the chimney. The HyProTherm will exceed that temperature in the firebox. |
|
The thermostatically controlled, forced air induction blower determines how hot the fire
burns and therefore how hot the air in the furnace gets.
A thermostat on the
back of the furnace tells the blower when to turn on and off (and has a solenoid
activated door), so it doesn't run all the time and waste wood.
This is a LOT more efficient than a manual
damper will ever be!
The air blows into the bottom of the fire,
through the grate - like a blacksmith's forge.
That's better than blowing in from the
front - into the side of the fire, as all others do (if they even have a fan).
You get more complete
burning from a fire where the oxygen is fed through the bottom
as opposed to blowing over the fire from the side, like others
that have that big box on the door!
|
Actual photo of a fire inside our firebox,
only minutes after reloading with wood!
|
This firebox size is 31.75" wide by a 28"
deep x 31.75" high; 25% LARGER than the previous (2019) model. The air chamber surrounds the
firebox, top, sides and rear.
The chimney is also surrounded
by air, further heating the air up.
The ash receptacle and tray are below the firebox.
|
Full-sized forced air fan for your home or building
and a forced air fan for furnace induction, with solenoid activated
damper
to shut off air supply when the fan turns off; saving you wood!
Simple fan(s) temperature controller shown here
Furnace is BLACK ALL OVER
Both fans and thermostat
included,
have a one-year

NEW! A bigger, quieter, smoother
2000+ CFM
blower (33% larger than in most homes!)
installed standard - on left above.
The fan will not turn on until the air
temperature is 125F or higher,
so that you don't have cold air blowing into the house.
You get a solenoid activated inducer
blower with damper too!
All parts
are available everywhere.
There are NO proprietary parts
or circuit
boards or smart phone hook-up!

Most common method:
The Army Corps of Engineers built a chase around the ductwork and filled It with standard fiberglass insulation to keep the ducts warm and dry.
They used the same material as was on the side of their building to give it a uniform appearance and you can do the same.
|
NOW there is no need to put the furnace right next to the house or have unsightly ductwork going across the yard!
Eliminate the threat of fire by having the furnace away from the house just like with our outdoor wood fired WATER furnace.
We are the only manufacturer that is doing this!
Perfect for folks who have power failures often or those people with cabins or homes that are unattended.
The two connectors in the back hook up to the INSULATED blue pipes which are buried in the ground, either with standard 12 inch galvanized ductwork, that you would insulate yourself or you can use the black pipe shown at the top of this ad.
This is the same as the blue duct work and is specially designed and made for our furnaces.
These pipes are only 12" in diameter so a standard backhoe with a 24" bucket can easily dig a trench for the pipes to lay side-by-side.
OPTIONAL:
~ Air and Water-Tight 12"
Underground Ducts
~ Foamed Walls
~ Easy to Install
~ Quiet and Efficient
~ PVC FREE
~ GREEN BUILDING Approved Adhesives
|
Air and Water-Tight 12" Underground Ducts
Ideal for new construction under a slab or basement, as you can see here
but you would just need two pipes running to the house
in an existing structure to connect to your ductwork. |
|
This is our original style of firebox which
we loved because there were no welds to make the firebox except for two to weld the end-plates on.
Our new firebox is much the same because
utilize a 430-ton press brake to form one piece of metal into the shape of the
firebox. We also do the same with the air jacket.
It also has one end-plate that is welded and we weld it to the floor, which is
also the water jacket bottom and is the SAME thickness as the firebox.
No one else in the world does this!
Instead of 12 welds to weld 6 flat slabs of
steel together, we have just four seams; 2/3 less!
Our new removable ash pan is
easily cleaned at the front!
WARNING!
Some
other makers don't even have an ash pan! You have to let the
fire die out or shove the hot burning logs aside - then clean it
out while the firebox is 800 to 2000F degrees - and then restart the fire in the dead of
winter! Who wants to do that?
Air surrounds the front
and back of the firebox and the ash pan as well,
extracting all the
heat from
the red hot coals.
The TW1000 or FLFA-1000 is shown to the right >>
|
There is an air handler/blower
that feeds air into the firebox, below the grate, to feed oxygen
to the fire. It is thermostatically controlled and solenoid activated for
greater efficiency, to keep the air temperature in
the furnace between certain parameters.
This is far better than an
inefficient manual or natural draft opening.
|

Our furnace is so strong

Many people can pay for their furnace in a year and a half OR LESS
of oil or propane bills!
|
Start with a small piece of wood.
:o) Seriously, you
can use these bigger, cheaper pieces or smaller ones - whatever
you can easily handle. The bigger
ones (rounds) require less cutting and splitting so they cost less -
about $80-90 a cord in most areas.
ANY wood is
cheaper than oil, gas and electricity!
One person said that they
have never used their propane heater after propane prices
tripled!
|
Whole rounds burn longer and
cleaner
and
it's SO NICE not having to split the wood!!

Shove the logs in on top of each other.
Use the big, thick poker

That big THICK 5/8" poker comes with the furnace - for FREE!

in the firebox, but within a couple of minutes -
literally - this fire was roaring!
|
This is our original style of firebox which
we loved because there were no welds
to make the firebox except for two to weld the end-plates on.
Our new firebox is much the same because
utilize a 430-ton press brake to form one piece of metal into the shape of the
firebox.
It also has two end-plates that are welded and we weld it to the floor, which is
also the water jacket bottom and is the same thickness as the firebox.
No one else in the world does this!
Instead of 12 welds to weld 6 flat slabs of
steel together; we have just 4 welds; two-thirds less!
COMBINED
with Ceramic Superwool on the front
(white - at the firebox) where temperatures
can be 1200F
and Knauf insulation blanket (brown) on the side,
insulating the air jacket, which is below 200F
- for superior performance all around!
Check it out!

ALL HyProTherm water-less furnaces, have a:
20-YEAR PARTS and LABOR WARRANTY!
On-Site and 100% paid for the first 5 years!
Years 6-20 very generously
pro-rated!
|
Who else offers that,
who has been around 49 years?
NOBODY!
A lot of warranties only cover parts
(not even labor)! and/or
YOU have to ship the furnace back to the factory
- at your expense.
Kind of negates the warranty, doesn't it?
A
gentleman called me and told
me his
2-year old C_____l B____r was leaking!
It had rusted right through and they would repair it
under warranty but he had to ship it back at HIS EXPENSE and then it would be
shipped back to him, but again, he had to bear the cost which was $1700 EACH
way!
Another customer paid $700 to ship his furnace back and was only allowed $100 towards a new furnace because they only cover parts (the
actual metal cost) anyways - not labor!
You
see, YOU have to ship it to them
and then YOU pay for shipping back to you
AND
you are without your furnace for 2-3-6 weeks.
(It's easy to ship you a piece of metal
and tell you to weld it in
and even EASIER for them, to make YOU pay through the nose!

BURN TIMES
As a test of burn
times, the owner of HyProTherm Furnace took the thermostat off his
25 year-old furnace, so that the fire would rage at maximum burn
24 hours a day.
Yet at MAX burn, he still only has to load
it every 12 hours. Normally, he goes as long as 24 hours without
reloading it.
A customer called and told me he goes 18 hours between loads (1/17/08)
Others have reported 24 hour burn times! I GET 24 hours out of mine!
We will always size the furnace for you to achieve once a
day loading (24 hour burn), if you want it!
There is no negative to getting a bigger furnace, like this one because it is
not like purchasing an air conditioner where if you get one too big, it becomes
inefficient. It is simply like getting a bigger fuel tank so that it will hold
more fuel and you will need to fill it less often. Don't believe the hype and
misinformation about 42-98 hour burn times. This is only true in
the summer. See my eBay

Questions
about stainless steel answered
Do you build with stainless steel?
Hi!
No, we don't build
stainless for several really good reasons.
Our furnaces last longer than stainless with MANY of our water furnaces still
in use after 30 years plus!!
1. Mild steel transfers heat better than stainless does.
2. Stainless is a great sales feature, but little else, since
most companies use cheap stainless, like a car's exhaust system.
There are many grades of stainless out there.
3. Since stainless is so expensive, the fireboxes are made
really thin. Some are no thicker than the metal in a 55 gallon
barrel or the thickness of a trailer fender!! That's why you see
so many split and broken apart.
Our optional firebox on water-less furnaces, is 1/4" thick - normally found on traditional boilers, giving faster heat transfer!
Our optional firebox on boilers, is almost .500 inches thick (HALF INCH) as opposed to as thin as .125 in many furnaces.
We replaced several H_rdy Furnaces and there are many leaking Ce___al Boilers and H_rdys on eBay for sale, that are leaking.
4. Stainless is more prone to stress cracks, so why use it?
5. Unless the stainless is retreated after welding, you've lost all of it's great properties through the heating of the metal. And
it's being welded to mild steel anyway, so what's the use?
Like I said, it's a great sales feature but our super thick mild steel furnace heats better, doesn't crack and split - and last longer!
If stainless was better, we'd surely be using it after 49 years of experience.
Best regards,
Ben

SAFETY!
The potential for
electrical shock is something we have tried to totally eliminate. That is why unlike our competitor's stoves,
our stoves do not have electrical control boxes, draft fans, etc., on the outside. We believe these impose too much risk should a problem ever
arise. We also believe that to have anything too complicated on a wood furnace is unnecessary. We have made our furnaces to be simple, and
reliable and we have proven that with 49years of use.
We do not have complicated self-fill, bladders or water level indicators on our furnaces.
You
don't need them with Forced-Air!
These stoves were developed by us, for our own use. We started making them for others slowly and now our stoves are well known locally for their simplicity, and their
maintenance-free operation. HyProTherm has sold several thousand in their county alone! We are sure that if you purchase one of our stoves you will be completely satisfied with our stove throughout its long service life which you will enjoy.
Forced-Air Wood Furnaces are indeed an excellent, almost
zero-maintenance heating choice.
We are positive that a few years down the road when others are making costly repairs to the overly complex system they purchased from our competitors, you will be quite comfortable and enjoying your new cost effective
HyProTherm's
Forced-Air
Wood Furnace.

About us:
HyProTherm
Furnace is a privately held company and was established in 1972. A Heating and Air company preceded it and dates back to 1950. Billy (the son) and his Dad (Gerald) were in the heating and air business for
decades. They began to develop their first prototype
for their own home, in the 60's. Gerald
Shaver knew there had to be a better way than to pay for oil, even
though it was cheap back then. His main concern however, was to
get rid of the smoke and ashes in the house. It was obvious it could
cause serious health problems. Besides the soot all over the
place was a chore to clean.
Having the wood outside already, made the plan simple. Put the wood stove
outside! He developed a model for himself and continued to improve on it over
the years. In 1972 he decided to start selling the furnaces and an industry was
born. Our furnace was indeed the first. The last revision was made in 2009
and the furnace remains unchanged, except for cosmetics, today. Now Gerald's son, Billy heads up the business.
Billy and Ray developed this NEW
Forced-Air Wood Furnace.
We have been in business for 49 years and we are
a family run business. We have sold THOUSANDS of furnaces across the
country and internationally. We are a brick and mortar
business in Salem Arkansas - and we are here to
stay.
We stand behind the quality of our furnaces 100%. We believe that we can give
you a quality furnace and save you
hundreds if not thousands of dollars
at the same time.
