Women & Violence (Living Archives of The Feminist Caucus of The League of Canadian Poets) by Sarah Klassen Paperback 1994

Condition: New

Description:
This book contains a qualitative research study focusing on the life stories of women convicted of domestic violence offences in the United States. This study attempts to shed light on the life story of women who have been labeled as batterers. These women are wives, mothers, and daughters. This population is often ignored, forgotten, and shunned by society but each individual has a unique life story. The participants of the study had all been arrested and convicted of at least one domestic violence offense and were in treatment during the research. Some of the stories in this book are graphic and detailed. The reader should be aware that the reader may experience strong, emotional reactions when reading the direct quotes of the participants. The information in this book may not be suitable for children.
