Often when people replace fluorescent tubes, they replace one or two, out of an installation of 10, 20, 30, or more and wonder why the new tubes present a different colour or are much brighter. This is because fluorescent tubes can loose up to 80% of their light output over time, when they eventually stop working, they are usually well spent, only producing a fraction of the original light output when new.
