Jean Royere Designer and Decorator - French book

Jean Royère Designer and Decorator - French book

This hardcover book with 336 full color pages and over 360 illustrations presents the French artist Jean Royère (1902 - 1981)
This well documented book presents the considerable work of a man who, between 1931 and 1972, realized more than thousand projects throughout the world, from the installation of the worker city in Aplemont - France to the decoration of the palace of the Shah of Iran creating with lightness and humor a style in total rupture with the past.
Through this creative abundance rendered by a rich iconography, we discover biomorphic shapes and bold colors that exude freedom and ornamental fantasy.
From the first years of his career, he feeds on the creation of his Scandinavian and Italian peers including Alvar Aalto and Gio Ponti, not to copy them but to stick to their rigor of execution.
