This 2-pc 1960's showgirl costume was worn by a Minnesota trapeze
artist back in the 1960s. The item is generally in great shape
considering its age. Buttons are attached to the black bodice with safety pins. Skirt has 10" slits on both sides and the circle print (hot pink, chartreuse, black) is silk-screened onto the fabric.
Please take a peek at the original wearer (in the
photographed slide) for a sense of size, and also note the measurements

This
costume is one of nearly a dozen that we acquired as part of a 100 year
family estate that came with a lode of historical photos and
information (this listing is only for the one costume with multiple
photos). The original owner (presumably the person who sewed them) was
an aerialist at Diamond Jim's (a legendary establishment along the banks
of the Mississippi River in Lilydale, MN) back in the 1960s; slide
photograph is included as provenance; slides will not be included with
this purchase (we will share the dancer's name with costume buyer upon
request).
