This Porcupine quill  and Ebony box, was made in Matara Sri Lanka between 1850 and 1900 and seems to be in good  condition for its age , with a working lock and key. There may be some quills that have been replaced and a few bone dots are missing, but generally it is a lovely item. The ones made in Matara are usually better quality. The dimensions are 8cm tall, 21.5cm wide, and 16cm deep.
