You are potentially purchasing the painted Hexes in the first photo.

Painted River Sections and Trench System sections suitable for use with Memoir 44, Aeronautica Imperialis, Adeptus Titanicus, Epic 40k, DropZone Commander.

I’ve also used some of the sections for other scales. 6mm, GHQ/Baccus, 10mm, Warmaster 12mm,15mm Flames of War, 20mm Rapid Fire, Bolt Action and 28mm Warhammer and Warhammer 40k.

In my opinion the river sections will suit most scales, and the trench sections will work with 1/72 Airfix 1/76, Memoir 44 infantry and Epic 40k 6mm Imperial Guard and 6mm Space Marines.

25 painted Hexagons in total.

Fully painted, flocked and finished with clear lacquer.

All sections have been undercoated with Yellow undercoat Spray.

The river sections have been painted with Games Workshop Citadel Colour Technical Lahmian Medium mixed with Vallejo Model Color Dark Blue 70930, I’ve then highlighted the river with Vallejo Model Color Sky Blue 70961 and then I’ve used Vallejo Model Color White 70951 as the final highlight.

I then used Citadel Colour Shade Drakenhof Nightshade to blend in the colours on the river and add a little shade.

The edges of the river sections are finished with fine sand and I’ve added Gamers Grass Tufts to help create the different styles of vegetation.

The Clear Lacquer and the Citadel Colour Shade Drakenhof Nightshade has enhanced the colours slightly but I think it looks great.

The Trench System has been undercoated with Yellow undercoat Spray and ink washed with Games Workshop Citadel Colour Contrast Aggaros Dunes and I’ve added Fine Beach Sand to the raised areas and also inside the runways of the trench system itself. I’ve tried not to obscure too many wooden planks.

Please be aware that the German infantry, artillery, German Panzer IV Tanks, American infantry and the Sherman M4 Tanks from the Memoir 44 Core Box, and the Memoir 44 Expansion Equipment Pack do not form any part of the auction they are shown for display and scale purposes only.

I’ve placed the Desert River and Trench System onto the Memoir 44 Desert Breakthrough map board to show how it fits.

On page 7 of the Aeronautica Imperialis Rule Book it states Terrain rarely features in the open skies, so none is needed.

Now is this a cop out, so they don’t need to invest money and time into creating some nice plastic scenery or is it just someone being lazy.

If we don’t need terrain, why produce plastic and resin ground assets.

Surely then a 1” cardboard hexagon showing a stick man holding a Big.F.Gun should suffice.

It’s a Board Game, let’s not play even more games on a flat bit of card, Cluedo was so boring.

Put some scenery on your board, make it look like a battlefield.

Remember one thing, Memoir 44 and Aeronautica Imperialis is not about true scale.

I’ve heard people complaining about the miniatures and scales , it’s a Board Game it’s not meant to be to true scale, it’s meant to be fun. Most people would find it difficult to fit Omaha Beach or some of the amazing battlefields from across the Warhammer 40k Multiverse onto their Dining Room Table.

It’s toy soldiers. Remember that.

No matter what scale you collect, no matter how many pages your rule book contains and no matter whether you paint your miniatures or not.
