Antique Georg Roth Bowl
German Artisan
This rare bowl is a wonderful little piece of art - medallions, scrollwork, and it looks French.  It is 800 silver which was the typical standard that German artisans worked in.
Georg Roth was a really interesting silversmith.  He started using his own mark, a crowned GR for Georg Roth from 1906. Based in Hanau, Germany, Roth specialised in fine copies from the antique, in the most popular historical styles and  in particular French Rococo. In one article I read, it said Georg Roth & Co produced silver that leaned strongly on French styles - festoons and portraits in medallions are ever-recurring features.
This discription is exactly what you are seeing in this piece.  It is approx 2 1/4" high X 4" wide.  It is in very good condition, consistent with its age.
WGT:   113 gr

I am also selling Georg Roth salt cellars, so please look.

I typicaly send in recycled packaging.
