This is a 2.5 mile oval track and the first 500 mile race was held in 1911. The track hosts three of the largest single day sporting events in the world ie Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400 and United States Grand Prix. The newest edition to the infield was a road course which was completed in 2000.
