I'm thinking we are looking at brass? I was told that this is a African Trade chain that would have been used as a form of money at one point. It could be about 100 years old. But I have nothing but stories for you on this one and its counterpart. We measure in at 10 1/2 inches and just over .25 inch in width.  The thickness of the chain changes as each of these links are handmade and wonderfully inconsistent. The beautiful patina is what drew me to this. We are heavy for a lil guy.
