LA MITAD DEL MUNDO VISTA DESDE AUTOMOVIL DE PEKIN A PARIS EN SESENTA DIAS.

Title translates to:

HALF THE WORLD SEEN FROM A CAR FROM BEIJING TO PARIS IN SIXTY DAYS

A book by a journalist-participant about the famous 1907 Peking to Paris race / rally, with very early turn of the century motor cars.

The frameable complete map / plan of the Auto Race is also included, a fold out map in back of the book.

200 photographs. 500+ pages of text (in Spanish).

Book in fair/poor condition. Though the binding is intact, the cover over the spine is separated nearly off, and in general the covers are in poor condition.

The text block inside is in ok condition, without stray marks, and apparently with all pages. Some folds or small nicks, including to the fold out map which is complete, and about 3 feet long (almost 1 meter).

The map is very valuable and could be framed separately.

The book and map are scarce.

There is a somewhat mildew odor, mild, and browning perhaps with exposure to some humidity or dampness in the past.

I suspect the book is best used, either to frame the map, or individual pages, or to re-bind the book in quality leather, saving whatever of the covers is unique.
