Harmony Kingdom Major’s Mousers Cat Box. TJCA4 1995

Approximately 3" tall & 3" wide. This box has been stored in its original box and comes with it. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. Please all photos as part of description, condition and for measurements.

This Harmony Kingdom box figurine named "Major's Mousers" was carved by Peter Calvesbert  in 1995. It was hand painted/finished by local craftsmen in the Cotswold area of England.

Harmony Kingdom description:

"These five senior citizen cats were originally conceived as a Harmony Ball chiming sphere holder with optional kitten lid. Spot the likeness of former Prime Minister John Major. Even the mouse, located between the heads of two cats, looks as if he should move into The House of Lords. Some of the early molds had the inscription “Drop Claws 4” under the striped kitten, a reference to a legal clause opposed by the Labor Party. The retirement of this box figurine was announced one month prior to John Major’s “retirement.” The interior is empty, except for HBC logo. Hallmarks include 3.95 and P.C."
