The TD124 has a stepped motor pulley with two different diameters. In areas with a 50Hz mains electricity frequency the larger diameter section of the pulley is used and for areas with 60Hz mains the pulley is flipped over and the smaller diameter section is used.
Consequently the optimum belt length is significantly different for 50Hz and 60Hz operation and yet the standard belts that are available are sold in one size only and are supposedly a universal fit for both pulley diameters.
More often than not these 'universal' length belts are an excessively tight fit on the larger 50Hz pulley and this excess tension causes premature belt wear, added bearing wear and is a major source of noise.
The Nanocamp Audio belt for the TD124 is made in two sizes, one with the optimal length and tension for the 50Hz pulley and a slightly shorter version optimised for the 60Hz pulley.
Conventional flat belts for turntables are cut from flat material and have a glued join. Nanocamp audio bluebelts are different - they are moulded as a single continuous circular shape and consequently have smoother quieter running.

Before installing your new belt; carefully clean both the motor pulley and sub-platter with isopropyl alcohol, to remove all traces of residue from the old belt.
It is common for these belts to initially be a little noisy as they first need running-in for several hours of continuous use before they are properly bedded-in, after which they should be very quiet indeed.
