This is Dr. Thach's  eighth book on mollusks and in it he introduces 116 newly described species and subspecies of marine. terrestrial and freshwater mollusks. Among these are 94 land snails, 12 marine mollusks and 10 freshwater shells. These shells have been collected from 11 countries, mainly in Asia and from one country in Africa. The book also contains two lists of shells that have been described by the author in the past. One list is of those accepted into the database of mollusks and the other, those that have been rejected as synonyms. As with Thach's other books, the descriptions are detailed and the photographs of the shells is clear and sharp.
