Recent find from a prominent North Carolina estate. Offering an absolutely stunning, and exceedingly rare, set of nine, 10 1/2" cabinet dinner plates by Copeland's Spode, England in an artistic design by A. Ball, pattern #Y4593. All nine are unique designed and all are signed. A very elegant and beautiful pattern with a turquois base color, heavy gold rim, and a hand painted floral image adorning the center. Overall excellent condition with two plates with some moderate issues. One plate does show slightly heavy use wear (see second to last photo for a large image) and one plate has a small chip only visible on the underside near the rim (see last photo). Other than these inclusions, no other chips, cracks, stains or crazing; some very light evidence of use and a couple instances of a small amount of based color loss where the plates were stacks; not overly significant. This set is very rare and extremely difficult to find in the dinner plate size. As a set, it displays amazingly well; the glaze has a nice sheen, the colors are vibrant, and the gold is strong and complete. Please review all pictures for design, dimensions and condition.
