Up for sale is this antique carved lava rock stone sculpture statue figurine of an elephant.

I was told this piece is a very rare and scarce piece.

Possibly Indonesian or Korean from Jeju Island. To me, it does not look like Aztec Pre-Columbian pieces but I could be wrong.

I am no expert but I have seen lava carved figures go for four- and five-figure sums at major auction houses.

In my research I have not been able to find another elephant. This piece seems quite special and is in excellent condition. It shows age and looks quite old in my inexperienced eyes.

The detail is wonderful and a bit primitive but still finely done. We see his tusks, ears, legs, and even tail. The trunk is curved downward and touches the base.

A wonderful piece for the serious collector!

Measures 5.6” inches long, 2.8” inches tall, and 1.9” inches wide (4.2 cm, 7.1 cm, 4.8 cm).

Would make a fantastic display piece, fine addition to a collection, or a great gift!
