This product is designed for the Japanese market with 100V AC 60 Hz.
If you seek 100% safety in the United States (120V AC 60 Hz), we recommend using a transformer.
Among our customers, there are those who use this product within the United States at 120V without a transformer. In fact, we have received several reports from users who say that they have used the FR301-82 at 120V without any problems. If you decide to use it at 120V, please do so at your own risk.
The plug for this product is a two-pole grounded plug type (Type A), which can be used with American two-pole grounded plug type (Type A). Please check the 7th image of the product for the shape of the plug.
Additional note:
Recently, a customer disassembled this product and discovered that the 100V model from Japan and the 120V model from the USA are almost identical. However, the American model includes an additional resistor on the circuit board to control the motor speed. When supplied with 120V, it was found that the motor of the 100V model, which is used for solder extraction, operates faster than expected. By replacing it with a 300 ohm 1 watt resistor, the same as in the American model, the motor speed and sound were confirmed to match the American model. However, using the 100V model on 120V or changing the resistor should be done at your own risk, as technical support is not provided.
