This is the second volume in this series that began in 2009 which was a monograph of the terrestrial mollusks in the family Placostylidae found in the Solomon Islands, which was very widely praised. And this book is not going to disappoint those of you that already own the first book. It is a highly descriptive book that also is extremely well illustrated. The Solomon Islands support a large and highly variable and highly diverse population of the snails, and this book provides us with a good overview as well as in depth details about these shells. The shells are very well illustrated and in the text you can find many photos of the shells as well as drawings reproduced from the original descriptions of these shells that were described a long time ago. Also note the excellent anatomical drawings of the shells and the maps of the population centers for these species.
