Ranikhet is the home for the Military Hospital, Kumaon Regiment (KRC) & Naga Regiment and is maintained by the Indian Army. It has a long and interesting military history.

It is 6,132 feet above sea level and within sight of the western peaks of the Himalayan Mountains
