Type Nib unit with nib, feed and screw in housing
Manufacturer and Year Cartier, France, 1970s or 1980s. (May fit later pens.)
Measurements Please compare measurements to your nib before you order, because there were at least two sizes of these nibs and this is the smaller. Outer diameter of threads 7.32mm. Widest diameter below threads: 6.84mm. Length from top of threads to nipple end: 21.8mm.
Condition Like new nib, we believe originally intended for the Cartier Pasha fountain pen. The nib is 18k with perfect tipping. It's got just a little light give to it and is very smooth and on the wet side. These Cartier nibs are famous for smoothness. Each unit has been tested and adjusted for smoothness.
While not marked as to nib size, we have tested the nib unit and have judged it to be medium-fine. Please see the writing sample below, where we measure the line width to be .6mm.
If you are trying to replace an existing nib unit, please make sure you can unscrew the existing nib from your pen's section.
Thanks to a knowledgeable friend on Instagram, who says the metal collared units replaced the original plastic/resin collars, we're thinking these fit:
- Old version of the Pasha
- Diabolo mini
- Must de Cartier
- Cougar de Cartier
We've taken extensive measurements, but it's difficult to ID any other specific pens that they might fit into. The measurements are close to that of a Bock or JoWo #5 unit, but they're just a tiny bit larger.
