Description
Offered here is this amazing salvaged 1920's Davies & McDonald 6" Decorative Tile. I am unsure of its exact age, however, D & M Company was only in production from 1928 through 1939. This tile is made of terracotta, and has a painted design that has a Persian Influenced Decoration. There are some very small glaze chips at the edge of both of the tile pieces. The tile is a 6" wide by 6" tile and is .5" thick. It is an amazing salvaged piece from The Frederick Estate in Altadena California. This tile is in good condition, with no real breaks around it, however, it does have some of the morter still attached to the back, and there are a few very small areas around the outer perimeter where the glaze is chipped off from the salvage process. The glaze on the front of the tile is a bit worn in a few places, and the colors are slightly faded, but, for a tile that is almost 100 years old, it is incredible. Each of these tiles were hand painted, and therefore the design has very slight variances. It is a gorgeous salvaged tile from D & M Company.
