I AM NOT SELLING A KIT, only a new, full-size copy of the Model Builder PLANconstruction article to build a 36" UC model of the Evans home-built VOLKSPLANE.

The homebuilt VOLKSPLANE was constructed just like a model plane, having sheet plywood sides, bottom and top. The motor was 1/2 of a Volkswagen auto engine. Plans sold like hotcakes in the 1970s as homebuilders who had once built UC stunt models such as VIKING, VAMPIRE and BOXCAR, all of which had square box fuselages, bought Evans plans and got started making a man-carrying "model" in their basements or garages.

This 36" Vern Schroeder design appeared in Model Builder years ago. It takes an .09 glow engine and Vern says the UC can easily be made into an RC model. I include the full Model Builder construction article. If you have ever built a model from scratch, you should have no problems.

My last picture shows a quarter scale RC VOLKSPLANE model that won the world scale championships in 1975. The builder (second from the left) appeared on Blackstone Army Airfield where Pop was Airfield Commander and asked permission to fly from an unused taxiway to get the hang of flying his perfect scale model. Of course, Pop said "yes" and then enjoyed seeing that really fine model flying.

With over 1000 original plans in my collection, and a mountain of supporting documentation, I have a large packet of original articles and drawings for the VOLKSPLANE. As a BONUS I include a copy of an old Air Progress VOLKSPLANE Pilot Report written by Walt Mooney, two tabloid size cutaway drawings, and a letter to homebuilders written by W.S. Evans explaining why they would no longer be marketing VP2 plans. You’ll not find a more thorough offering.

"Hello Sean, I just received your package today! The documents you sent were exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated! I just wanted to say thank you....the speed in which you sent the package along with your care in packaging does not go unnoticed. Regards, Chris Y." Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
