How to Wash a Sleeping Bag?

Instructions provided with the bag should always be followed, but here are a few tips to help you get the best results:

Machine Wash (if instructions allow): Use a delicate, cold-water wash and unzip the bag halfway. Use mild fabric soap and add two tennis balls to stop the stuffing from clumping. Do not use fabric softener. Run an extra rinse cycle to remove all soapy residue.

Hand Wash: Fill a bath with cold water & dissolve half a cup of mild fabric soap. Lie the sleeping bag in the bath as flat as possible and fully zipped. With bare feet walk up & down on the sleeping bag. Drain the soapy water & repeat with cold water until all soap has been washed out.

Drying Your Sleeping Bag: First lie the bag flat and roll-up from bottom to top up to remove excess water. Never twist or wring as this can damage the bag. Then hang, unzipped, on a washing line or indoors. Bags can take up to 24 hours to dry. Alternatively, tumble dry on a low heat setting with a couple of tennis balls.
