Bamboo furniture is extremely fashionable right now and has a great light and airy exotic feel about it, looking just as at home in a modern minimal house as it would in a colourful retro one.

The now iconic design of this bamboo footstool (nicknamed the 'Lobster Pot' due to its resemblance to one) was first designed by Franco Albini in 1951.

Through his creations, Italian born architect and designer, Franco Albini, merged the Italian traditional artisanship with the new forms of modernism. In his creations, Albini used raw, inexpensive materials and exploited the very skilled Italian craftsmanship. This also meant elegant designs based on a minimalist aesthetic.

With no makers marks it's been hard to fully identify this piece as actually by Albini himself, hence the listing title 'Albini Style'.

Not without fault and featuring wear commensurate with age and use. The top central ring is missing some of its coil and the inside angled supports have all been snapped off. This however does not effect its use and functionality and is very much still stable and usable. The stool came to us extremely dirty so we have cleaned it as best we can, but as you can imagine it is quite fiddly and intricate so there may still be small areas that still show signs of its former home.

Measures approximately 60cm wide and 42cm tall.
