Vintage Mikasa Japan Multicoloured Terra Stone (All Colours) Complete Dinner Set For 6
Iconic late 1950s early 60's Mid Century Modern International Design from the Eames era.
Featuring a silky cherrywood ash glaze on the exterior and high gloss colour glaze on the interior.
Cherrywood ash a traditional glazing material used in Kyoto ceramics combined with the then contemporary colours produced a contemporary cutting edge ceramic design that was taken up by modernists in the USA & Australia and captured the zeitgeist of the era of mid century modernism.
This range produced in the early to mid 1960's came in a colour range of 6
The 6 colours are named Snow White, Bristol Blue, Bronze Green, Orange Sherbet, Curry Yellow and Bitter Sweet.
This set is made up with each of the different colour range* with the exception of the bowls.
The bowls in the colours of Bitter sweet (or Orange Sherbet) & Snow White bowls it have been substituted for an Bronze Green ones.
The range mixes and matches to form a harlequin display and the modernist colors look fantastic bouncing off each other.
A fantastic set for a beach house, town house and perfect for that original mid century modern home.
Mikasa Terra Stone is both durable quality stoneware and dishwasher proof.
All 30 pieces are in excellent to mint condition.
No chips, cracks, crazing, utensil scrapes.
Please note there is a tiny mark on each edge of the plates, bowls and saucers, this is a manufacturing mark and not a chip.
All pieces stamped with the Mikasa brand and the individual colours.
