This DVD (and any other DVD released anywhere in the world) will play just fine on any multi-region DVD player, bought in USA or elsewhere. It will also play on most computers' DVD drives. Some consumers actually own a multi-region DVD player, without knowing it. All you need to do if you own such Philips, Akai, CyberHome or other DVD player is to use your remote control to switch it to multi-region mode. As such features are almost always not documented by the DVD player's manufacturer, we'd recommend you check your DVD player's capabilities by searching the web for the words 'videohelp DVD Player and Blu-ray Player region codes' and choosing the very first link found.
For our USA customers, if you need an advise for a inexpensive ($30-$40) US DVD player, please feel free to contact us or to read our recommenations here: Our DVD player recommendations. Please keep in mind that we do not sell DVD players.

This DVD does not contain pornographic material and may be lawfully sold to and viewed by minors.

o Most of the DVD manufacturers don't state whether subtitles are optional or not. Unfortunately, we don't have the capacity to inspect every DVD title to determine whether subtitles can be removed or not. Therefore, when purchasing the DVD, which contains subtitles, the assumption should be that subtitles are not removable. However, you can try DVD's menu to turn off subtitles or try 'Subtitles' button on your DVD player's remote control to turn off the subtitles track. If these steps don't work, then unfortunately subtitles are not optional.

Synopsis:
The second box of the series 'The Jrgen Leth Collection' contains Leth's sports films, Primarily emphasising the cycle films where Stars and Water Carriers and A Sunday in Hell are considered new genre classics. The director was tired of clichd sports journalism and found 'the inner psychological drama of the battles waged between great cyclists' more absorbing. Stars and Water Carriers portrays the Giro d'Italia in 1973 where Ole Ritter's time trial is the cinematic and emotional climax. In A Sunday in Hell, the renowned oneday race from Paris to Roubaix was recorded by 27 cameras strategically situated along the route, thus entrusting to many cinematographers the task of successfully capturing the dramatic event on film. Under the given rules of the game, the essence of both films is an artistic challenge. Also true of The Impossible Hour portraying Ole Ritter's attempt to retake the Hour Record. Pelota is another expression of Leth's fascination with unique people who perform with grandeur, in this case illustrated through a minor sport played exclusively in the Basque country. Finally, the set contains two early experimental films. Motion Picture revolves around tennis player Torben Ulrich and investigates the phenomenon of movement within an absolute image area. Chinese Ping Pong describes this fast-paced game, working artistically with framing to accentuate the speed and beauty of the game.

A Sunday Day in Hell (1976)
The Stars and the Water Carriers (1974)
The Impossible Hour (1974)
Pelota (1983)
Chinese Ping-Pong (1972)
Motion Picture (1970)
