MONTA YEAR 1942

Monta typewriter, made from 1942. Manufactured by the Olivetti company in Ivrea, Italy, from 1932 to 1950.

The name Monta is due to the fact that it is an Italian machine, but marketed for the Czech market.

This company was founded by Camilo Olivetti in 1911 with the manufacture of his first model, the Olivetti M-1. During the Brussels Exhibition in 1920, the company presented its Olivetti M-20, obtaining a great commercial success throughout Europe. The Olivetti company was one of the most successful companies in the manufacture of typewriters. ICO is an acronym for Ingegnere Camilo Olivetti and MP1 is for Modello Portatile 1, because it was the first portable typewriter of the Olivetti company. Many ICO machines were made with some differences between them, in various colors like grey, black, blue, red.

This model was made of shiny black lacquered metal. Its simple design makes it a functional and aesthetically very attractive machine with a great timeless design that does not go out of style. It has a keyboard made up of four rows and a double shift key. Presented on an aluminum plate with the name Olivetti Ico and the name Monta on the clipboard. The machine is kept in good condition and works properly. Includes the carrying case.
