Very Rare - 23-Piece Gladding McBean & Company Franciscan
Ware “Coronado” Pattern Swirly Ivory Pottery Set from 1936 in Good Vintage Condition
(Made in the USA).
Franciscan Ware,
or Franciscan Pottery as it was first named in 1934, was manufactured by
Gladding McBean & Company of Glendale, CA. USA. The Coronado pattern
came out in 1936 and was GMB’s second dinnerware
offering in the Franciscan patterns (a style Metlox copied for their Yorkshire
line in 1937).
A beautiful vintage set that’s loaded with shabby chic
charm and the creamy Ivory hue is absolutely dreamy!
California casual pottery set in a creamy
off-white / Ivory color with satin velvet-like, matte finish that features a graceful
design of swirled edges and gently molded curves that twist up the sides.
Complete 23-piece Set Includes:
Though very blurry, most of
the bases show the signature GMcB in a circle; Made in U.S.A. back stamps.

Regarding shipping - we’ll package these beauties with lots of bubble wrap and nestle
them neatly in plenty of packing peanuts to ensure their safe delivery to you.
Note (close-up images/condition) - good overall
condition for its age though several pieces have an issue to note: the sugar
bowl has 2 exterior rim chips (1 tiny & 1 medium), the creamer has a small,
very fine hairline crack under the spout, 5 of the dessert bowls have small rim
pinholes, all the soup bowls have rim chips (2 on 1, 1 on 1, & a couple of
tiny ones on 1), one of the small plates has a small rim chip, and the gravy boat underplate shows 1 crack on the top and several
long cracks on the underside (seems quite stable & doesn’t seem like they should
affect its use).
Comes from a smoke / pet
free home.
