The Christmas, 1905 issue of Century Magazine , an illustrated monthly magazine first published in the United States in 1881.
The Century was the successor of Scribner's Monthly Magazine.
The magazine was very influential and well-regarded among the American upper-class in the late 19th century. Its popularity declined by the turn of the century however, suffering due to competition from cheaper magazines printed with cheap materials.

Worn binding, with repaired tearing of the front cover.
The covers are worn at the edges.
The spine cover is partially present.

Though the covers are worn, internally the magazine is in very good condition.
The pages and illustration plates are clean and very good.

The Contents of this issue includes :

Pictures , in Colors , illustrating " A Christmas Hymn " by Alfred Dommett ( 1811 - 1887 ).
Alfred Domett, born in England, was the fourth premier of New Zealand. He was a close friend of the poet Robert Browning.
His poem " A Christmas Hymn " is here illustrated, in color, with several plates after paintings by Joseph Christian Leyendecker (1874 -1951).
Leydecker was a German-American illustrator, considered one of the preeminent American illustrators of the early 20th century.
Leydecker is best known for his poster, book and advertising illustrations, the trade character known as The Arrow Collar Man, and his numerous covers for The Saturday Evening Post.
